MONCLER Noir Kei Ninomiya’s masterpiece

This month at Entrance we are pleased to introduce the highly craved Moncler Noir Kei Ninomiya, collection no. 6 of the Moncler Genius Project.

Available now.

In NOIR anticipation

Fabric manipulation, excellent tailoring techniques and processes, plus an aesthetic exploration of wearable geometry and an impressive use of the conclusive void offered by the colour black — these are the unique and dramatic attributes fuelling Moncler 6 Noir Kei Ninomiya’s collection. And it’s no wonder. The former protégé of Comme des Garçons founder Rey Kawakubo, Kei joined CDG in 2008 as a pattern cutter and, as well as developing his own brand five yeas later, he also gained an incredible eye for Intricacy and a sense of experimentalism which now translates into this impressive all-female range which will make you hold your breath in awe.

A stroke of GENIUS

Based on 8 different contemporary designers — such as Hiroshi Fujiwara, Simone Rocha and Palm Angles among others — taking turns in each launching monthly a collection especially designed for Moncler, the Genius Project is Remo Ruffini’s mastermind plan of relaunching his Moncleir brand, in an attempt to address nowadays’ shifting buying patterns. Moreover and equally important, with these unique targeted collections, Moncler aims to reach different audiences as well as to add the rebel flavour of specific niches to its traditional “functional winter uniform” status.

Is this bold approach effective on the long run?

That remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, a selection of key items from the Moncler 6 Noir Kei Ninomiya collection is available at ENTRANCE STORE, starting the 11th of August.

The Rosaline is a handcrafted garment with roots in embroidery and origami mastery. A fully embroidered nylon laqué jacket with quilted flowers that create a three-dimensional effect.

Geometry meant to be worn. The Olivina is a long sleeve jacket that features all of the elements of Oriental craftsmanship, interpreted in a futuristic manner. The lightweight interweaving is made possible by the skilful use of materials for which Moncler is known.

The Amethyst is a coat designed as a winter basic that becomes a piece of elevated craftsmanship, thanks to woven details that are repeated the length of the garment. Starts with down quilting and, with craftsmanship and origami techniques, transforms it into a soft and lightweight suit of armour.

The Almandine is an outerwear piece designed as a winter basic with an artisanal flair, thanks to repeated woven details. This jacket starts with down quilting and, with craftsmanship and origami techniques, is transformed into a soft and lightweight suit of armour.

The shirt. A wardrobe classic becomes ultra feminine thanks to the craftsmanship and Oriental mastery of Moncler Noir Kei Ninomiya, collection no. 6 of the Moncler Genius project. A cotton shirt with a slimming silhouette enriched with floral appliques and elegant details.

The T-shirt. When a basic garment is created with master craftsmanship, the result is excellence. A t-shirt with a plain front and an origami detail back. The combination is self-evident and becomes the starting point of an original look.
